UPDATE: Unfortunately, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives decided not to call up H.B. 1750 for a vote. This means that Pennsylvania will not strengthen its anti-cruelty law by prohibiting human consumption of cats and dogs.

There are plans to reintroduce the bill next year, and we will continue to push for this and other humane policies for cats in Pennsylvania and let you know when it's time to take action again.

ProtectPACats_HB-1750.jpgORIGINAL ISSUE:

This action is ONLY for residents of Pennsylvania

Right now in Pennsylvania, cats and dogs can be sold for human consumption. It’s chilling that this is even possible, but the good news is that a bill is pending in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives that would ban this gruesome practice.

H.B. 1750 would also prohibit other acts of cruelty, like events where cats, dogs, or birds are tethered or mechanically launched to be shot at. It would finally put a stop to Pennsylvania's notoriously inhumane pigeon shoots.

You have the chance to help make Pennsylvania a much safer place for animals, but you have to take action now. Let’s make sure the Pennsylvania House of Representatives knows how much you care.

We apologize, but the action alert you are attempting to access is no longer active.
