Virginia Residents: Support SB 693

Black Cat for VA TNR Action Alerts in 2015

Update:

(February 17, 2015):
We are disappointed to report that the House Agriculture Subcommittee, voted down SB 693, the Community Cat Bill, by a vote of 5-2. This means the bill will not move forward this year.

We very much appreciate the efforts of Sen. Steve Martin (R-Chesterfield) for sponsoring the Community Cat Bill and securing its bipartisan support in the Senate. Thank you to everyone who took the time to contact your Senator and Delegate to support lifesaving legislation for cats.

Original:

In the coming days, committees in the Virginia State House of Delegates will hold hearings on the Community Cat Bill, SB 693.  Last week, the Virginia State Senate approved this bill by a vote of 28-10.  We need your help now to ask your Virginia State Delegate to support this lifesaving bill!

The Community Cat Bill, SB 693, would clarify Virginia law to remove any doubt that Trap-Neuter-Return practices are permitted. The bill would ensure there are no obstacles to animal shelters and animal controls participating in Trap-Neuter-Return.

Take action now to ask your State Delegate to vote in favor of this lifesaving bill!
