Alley Cat Allies Helps Cats Threatened by “Antifreeze Notice” in Missouri
|
Imagine being asked to set out a bowl of antifreeze to poison community cats. That’s exactly what happened to tenants at White Eagle Woods mobile home park in Stone County, Missouri. Thanks to the immediate response of local groups, the cats are now safe, and will be spayed and neutered thanks to a grant from Alley Cat Allies. The Animal Cruelty Task Force with the Humane Society of Missouri is working with the Stone County sheriff’s office to investigate the crime. Kudos to the Stone County community for working together to protect cats and develop humane education programs!

Escambia County, Florida Passes TNR Ordinance
|
Thanks to all our supporters who reached out to elected officials, Escambia County, Florida passed a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) ordinance that will help protect community cats. This was not an easy victory—the plan received vocal criticism from opposition using misinformation that pits cats against birds. But the county commissioners saw that TNR is the only effective approach to caring for community cats. This is your victory—you are proof that advocating for community cats can have positive and lasting results.
Learn more about how you can help your city adopt a TNR program for community cats. |
