Take the Pledge! Support Community Cat Caregivers

Recently, we told you the heartbreaking story of a 76-year-old man from Gainesville, Texas who was arrested and jailed for feeding cats. Imagine—being put in jail for the crime of compassion. No caregiver should ever have to look over their shoulder while feeding or caring for cats. The hard work of community cat caregivers should be celebrated. After 25 years of progress for community cats, there are still far too many communities with archaic policies that are cruel to cats and punish caregivers. Please sign the pledge saying you support community cat caregivers and compassion should never be a crime.

Spring is in the Air—Time to Spay/Neuter

Early Age SN Spring is almost here, and you know what that means: kittens. But you can help keep kittens out of shelters by spaying and neutering cats now, before kitten season kicks into gear. You can prevent even more litters by having kittens spayed or neutered when they’re 2 months old, or when they weigh 2 pounds. Veterinarians agree that pediatric spay/neuter is a safer, faster procedure, and kittens rebound quickly. We’ve got the research to prove it! End the breeding cycle before it starts—spay and neuter now!

Adoptable Cat: Meet Guinevere!

Adopt Guinevere Guinevere is a beautiful, sleek lady who loves kneading blankets like she’s making muffins. She’s a smart and playful girl who just wants a calm space to call her own. Guinevere likes to laze around, but she also can play a little rough with her toys. This sweet kitty would prefer a home without other animals or kids, and would be thrilled to live the indoor/outdoor life. Let us know if you can open your home to little Guinevere, and check out our other adoptable cats!

Jumpstart Your Advocacy with a TNR Workshop

eNews_CatAdvocacyCat.jpg One of the best ways to advocate for cats and promote Trap-Neuter-Return is by hosting a workshop. In fact, we’ve been doing that ourselves this month—from Montgomery County, Maryland, to Anaheim, California, we’ve been hard at work teaching people how they can start saving cats in their community. You can host your own TNR workshop in your community too! We have resources and guides that will show you how you can advocate for cats with a Helping Cats in Your Community Workshop.
