Record Number of Cats Saved at Lee County Domestic Animal Services
|
Our Future Five partner Lee County Domestic Animal Services (LCDAS) has saved a record number of cats this year thanks to humane policies that include Trap-Neuter-Return. In 2007, LCDAS was only saving 15 percent of cats who entered its facility—now, in 2014, nearly 70 percent of cats entering the shelter are saved—the highest amount in 10 years! And the number keeps rising! Lee County’s TNR program actively supports caregivers and helps community cat colonies, neutering approximately 2,500 cats every year.
