Justice for Cats in South Bend, Indiana

Black Cat Last spring, we rallied local and national support and offered a reward to find the person responsible for killing 10 cats and 11 other animals in South Bend, Indiana. We’re pleased to tell you that a man has been charged for the crime. This is a huge victory for the cats, and for the South Bend community. Holding animal cruelty offenders accountable for their actions is crucial in the movement to protect cats. In spite of the troubling lack of enforcement in many animal cruelty cases, South Bend showed that communities can seek and achieve justice for cats.

Healing Brenham, Texas through Humane Programs

Brenham Vigil After an Austin County grand jury decided not to indict Kristen Lindsey, the veterinarian who posted a picture of herself on Facebook holding a cat by an arrow through the cat’s head and bragging about the kill, Alley Cat Allies hosted two vigils in Texas to honor the memory of the cat. We also held two workshops on Trap-Neuter-Return, humane cat care, and anti-cruelty laws. Now, Alley Cat Allies is urging Brenham to adopt a model Trap-Neuter-Return ordinance that will save cats’ lives. Find out how Alley Cat Allies is helping Texas heal through lifesaving policies and programs.
