Becky Robinson Visits Norfolk SPCA and CHASE
Over the weekend of November 5, Becky made two stops in Virginia to visit the Norfolk SPCA and Caring Hands Animal Support and Education (CHASE). She gave a presentation about Alley Cat Allies’ 25 years of advocacy to the Hampton Roads Community Cat Caretakers Group at the Norfolk SPCA and toured the facility. Then she traveled to Chincoteague Island to join CHASE as they conducted a huge and successful TNR clinic that spayed/neutered 189 cats! Read more about Becky’s weekend in Virginia.

Governor Cuomo Vetoes TNR Funding Bill
New York Governor Cuomo has vetoed the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Funding Bill, despite tremendous support from New York legislators in both chambers, New York citizens, animal shelters, and animal protection organizations. The bill would have funded greatly needed TNR and vaccination services for community cats, and though the Senate passed the bill, Cuomo refused to sign it into law. We are disappointed in Governor Cuomo’s decision to ignore science and his constituents’ wishes. However, the thousands of individuals and groups carrying out TNR programs in New York will continue their lifesaving work. We will continue working on this issue and keep you updated. Read more about our response to Governor Cuomo’s decision to veto the TNR Funding Bill.
