An elderly Louisiana man will spend this Thanksgiving without his beloved cat, 'Kitty' because of an unspeakable act of cruelty. Alley Cat Allies' lead investigator, Jeff Dorson, said that in all his 25 years of investigating animal cruelty, the crime scene photo of this deceased cat was the most haunting he'd seen. "It shook me to my core, like no other," Jeff told us. I couldn't bring myself to look at the photo, but people need to know that this cat was cruelly killed. And whoever perpetrated this heinous crime must be found and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Incredibly, in another part of the same state, more shocking news: Dozens of cats deliberately mutilated and shot to death. Their caregivers are stunned and heartsick, and demanding justice. But as so often happens in cases of animal cruelty, the local police departments don't have the resources to make these cases a priority. As soon as we heard about these horrific crimes, Jeff jumped into action, and is canvassing the neighborhoods for evidence as I write this.
