344x361.jpgThis action is ONLY for residents of Virginia House Districts 9, 10, 14, 15, 18, 26, 28, 35, 36, 37, 40, 42, 49, 57, 60, 65, 73, 75, 83, 94, 99, and 100.

Update—February 17, 2021:

Thank you to everyone who spoke out with us in support of SB 1390 and TNR these past weeks. Unfortunately, the House Agriculture, Chesapeake and Natural Resources Sub-Committee voted to table the bill, meaning no further action on it is planned.

Alley Cat Allies will continue to work with cat advocates in Virginia until the progress outlined in SB 1390 is law. We will be in touch when you can help.

Again, thank you so much for your efforts on behalf of cats and kittens. Please keep raising your voice and educating your community on the issues that affect them.

Original Message:

SB 1390, the bill to affirm that Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is legal throughout Virginia, is on to its next big vote. The bill already passed in the state Senate and is now with Virginia’s House Agriculture, Chesapeake and Natural Resources Committee for consideration.

If the committee approves, SB 1390 will be one step closer to becoming law! We expect the committee to meet in the next few days, so please contact your delegate in support of this lifesaving bill right now.

Not only will SB 1390 clarify that all Virginia localities can legally practice TNR, but it will also pave the way for more lifesaving TNR programs to take hold!

Only constituents of the 22 committee members can take action, so please take a few minutes to speak out for cats on behalf of all of Virginia.

Urge your delegate to vote YES on SB 1390.
