Protect Cats & Kittens
in Spencer County

Alley Cat Allies and its supporters played a vital role in closing the Spencer County Animal Shelter in Indiana after an employee was instructed to “euthanize” a kitten by using the cruel, inhumane practice of putting her in a freezer to die.

Alley Cat Allies filed a lawsuit asking an Indiana judge to order Spencer County Animal Shelter not to reopen until it adopts humane standards of care and policies, and fully trains employees.
